GENERAL TERMS & PRIVACY POLICY

Terms of using PsihNet services

Welcome to PsihNet, an initiative of the MAD Foundation (MAD) under the auspices of Healthnet International. MAD provides this service to you, subject to the terms below, which may be updated on this page. Significant changes will be notified on the PsihNet site. The latest update is always placed on this page.

MAD provides you to access the PsihNet services. You agree that the services may include advertisements. You agree also that the services may include communications from MAD, announcements, administrative messages and the MAD Newsletter. You agree that the services are provided as such and that MAD accepts no responsibility for technical failures in the services.

MAD has created certain MEMBER areas on PsihNet that can be visited only by persons authorised by MAD. MEMBER Authorisation as a MEMBER to visit particular MEMBER areas on PsihNet is decided by MAD. If you apply for authorisation, you accept the following rules and obligations:

  • You are of legal age to form a binding agreement;
  • You will provide true registration data about yourself;
  • You will maintain and update these registration data to keep it true;
  • MAD has the right to suspend or terminate your account if you provide any information that is untrue, or if MAD has reasonable grounds to suspect that your information is untrue.

After completing the PsihNet registration process you will receive a username and a password.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password, and have the responsibility for all activities that occur under your username and password. You agree to immediately inform MAD of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. MAD cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to follow these rules.

Any publicly posted or privately transmitted information (among which text, data, audio, video), is the sole responsibility of the person from which such information originated. You are responsible, not MAD, for all information that you make available via PsihNet services. MAD does not control the information of e-mail transmitted via the PsihNet services and does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of this content. By using the Service, you may be exposed to information that is offensive, indecent or objectionable. Under no circumstances will MAD be liable for any information or for any loss or damage as resulting from such information, as a result of the use of any information transmitted or otherwise made available via the PsihNet services.

You will not use the PsihNet services for disclosing any information on the site that is intended for authorised persons only.

You will not use the PsihNet services for making available any information that is unlawful, harmful or objectionable in any way.

You will not use the PsihNet services for making available any information that:

  • You do not have a right to;
  • Infringes any privacy, patent, copyright or other proprietary right of any party;
  • Is considered as advertising (without permission by MAD), junk mail, spam or any other form of solicitation
  • Contains software viruses or any other harmful information designed to attack functionality of computer software, hardware or network on client or on server side.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the Service.

You agree that MAD may access and disclose your account information if required to do so by law or in cases of suspecting violation of the terms or if any information violates the rights of third parties.

MAD has the right to remove any information that violates the terms or is otherwise objectionable. You agree to bear all risks associated with the use of any information delivered by the PsihNet services, among others its reliability, accuracy, completeness, or usefulness. You accept that you may not rely on any information created by MAD or submitted to MAD.

You agree to indemnify MAD, and its partners harmless from any claim or demand made by any third party due to the information you make available through the PsihNet services, your use of these services, your violation of the terms, or your violation of any rights of third parties.

You agree that your use of the service is at your sole risk, also that Mad expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind.

MAD makes no warranty that the services will meet your requirements, the services will be uninterrupted, or the results that may be obtained from the use of the services will be accurate or reliable.

Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the service is done at your own discretion and risk and that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of any such material.

The terms and the relationship between you and MAD shall be governed by the laws of The Netherlands with the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Amsterdam.

Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy and information if you are online is extremely important. There are several ways you can protect yourself online. MAD takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy. This policy covers how MAD treats personal information that MAD collects and receives, including information related to your past use of PsihNet services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

MAD collects personal information when you register with PsihNet, when you use PsihNet, when you visit PsihNet pages or the pages of certain MAD partners.

When you register we ask for information such as your name, email address, birth date, gender, zip code, occupation, industry, and personal interests. For some services we may also ask for your address. Once you register with PsihNet and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to MAD.

MAD automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you request.

MAD uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, fulfill your requests for services, improve our services, to contact you and to prepare anonymous reports.

MAD does not share personal information about you with other people or companies except to provide services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • We have to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
  • If it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, as required by law.

MAD may set and access PsihNet cookies on your computer.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the MAD and PsihNet service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the Newsletter, that are considered part of your PsihNet account.

Your account will be deleted on your request.

We limit access to personal information about you to our coworkers and volunteers who have agreed on our nondisclosure agreement and who need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you or to do their jobs.

MAD may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified on the PsihNet site. The latest update is placed on this page.
